Koh Samui, Thailand
A Boutique Island
Koh Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand, is the Kingdom’s third largest island and a firm favourite among discerning visitors from around the world.
Famous for its laid-back ambience and leisurely pace of life, Samui is blessed with a benign climate, splendid beaches, tropical character and mountain jungle interior. The island is roughly circular in shape, measuring only 15 kilometres across, with a 55-kilometre encircling loop road, which is perfect for scenic outings in a hired car or a chauffeur-driven 4×4. Waterfalls, jungle treks and secluded beaches are only some of the charms of this tropical jewel. It is known as the ‘Boutique Island’ because there are few places in the Kingdom that present such a sophisticated and well developed tourist infrastructure, including great restaurants to suit all tastes, shops, day spas, golf and diving.
Within the last few years, Samui has seen considerable growth in its market for luxury homes, its many beaches and long high season making it an ideal destination for an extended vacation, or retirement.
